I can't write kanji!

After using computers for many years, I find myself gradually losing the ability to write characters by hand. Even simple kanji become harder and harder to write if I don't pick up a pen and actually write them. Lately, I've even started mixing katakana into hiragana, which is a bit concerning.

There are many difficult kanji in gothic lolita motifs that I've never been able to write from the start: 薔薇 - Rose 蝙蝠 - Bat 蜘蛛 - Spider 髑髏 - Skull These are words I use every day, but I've never actually written them.

Last week, we received new rose and butterfly parts. Even writing product names and descriptions is all done on the computer. In this day and age, children are familiar with smartphones from a young age and learn to use computers at school... I hear that cursive alphabet isn't even taught anymore.

Here are some of the items that arrived last week.

The kanji "蝶" (butterfly) is easy to make a mistake on.
It's missing the "草冠" (radical for grass) on top of the "葉" (leaf) part.
